Search Unread Mails in Outlook
This article provides different ways to Search Unread Mails in Outlook. Most of us create folders and move mails to these folders based on rules. While reading through these mails if some mails are left out unread and you need to find all such unread mails either folder wise or across all folders then there are different ways to search these mails in Outlook.
If you receive more than 250 mails everyday then your inbox will look like mine, it’s full of read and unread messages by end of day. The problem starts after few days because the unread mails get pushed down and later its time consuming to search unread mails. At that point you look out for option to get unread mails just by a click. Good thing is Outlook does provide such feature which makes life easier.
Way#1– Login to Outlook
In the Navigation Pane, click Inbox or the folder that you want to filter.
At the top of the message list, click in the Instant Search box.
The Search Tab appears on the ribbon.
On the Search tab, in the Refine group, click Unread.
Way#2 – Login to Outlook
In the Navigation Pane, click Inbox or the folder that you want to filter.
On the Home tab, in the Find group, click Filter E-mail, and then click Unread.
Way#3 -Login to Outlook
In the Navigation Pane, click Inbox or the folder that you want to filter.
At the top of the message list, click in the Instant Search box.
Type – read:no
Press enter. All Unread mail will be shown.
There are few more ways which outlook supports to search unread mails in folders but they are more complicated and time consuming.
